Radiantly You Shampoo Bars

It has now been a full week since I stopped using my chemically-laiden shampoo and conditioner in favor of an all-natural shampoo bar by Radiantly You. I waited until after the holidays to make the switch because there is a detox period that your hair goes through, adjusting to the chemical absence. I also stopped using my blow dryer and straightener to reduce stress on my hair during the transition. Yesterday, I saw the initial "dirty" phase end. My hair felt as if it was dirty from my scalp oils but the roots were not oily. The flakes during the first week were quite gross but they have reduced greatly in 8 days. Based on the average hair detox, I have about a week left to go. :)

I'm alternating between the Mango Coconut Conditioning Shampoo Bar and the Tea Tree Shampoo Bar. One step makes washing my hair so simple and fast.

Fluoride-free Toothpaste

In my search for a fluoride-free toothpaste, I tried many nasty tasting ones before I found this:

Tom's of Maine, Fluoride-Free Propolis & Myrrh Toothpaste, Cinnamint, 5.5 oz (155.9 g)

Propolis and myrrh leave your mouth naturally fresh!
Propolis and myrrh are herbal resins we've found promote a naturally clean, healthy-mouth feeling. Propolis and Myrrh toothpaste fights plaque with regular brushing, and we've added xylitol for great taste!
Fluoride-free formula: Some people do not want fluoride in their toothpaste. We produce this toothpaste without fluoride because we respect our customers' diverse needs and interests.
Uses: Helps prevent plaque buildup with regular brushing.
Suggested Use
Brush thoroughly, preferably after each meal but at least twice a day, or as directed by a dentist or physician.
Supplement Facts
Calcium carbonate, water, glycerin, xylitol, chondrus crispus (carrageenan), sodium lauryl sulfate, cinnamomum cassia (cinnamon) leaf oil and other natural flavors, sodium bicarbonate, commiphora myrrha (myrrh) resin extract, propolis extract.

This is not one of those natural toothpastes that I had to get used to its taste. I enjoyed it from the start. With big-name-brands that I used to use, I would wake up with bad breathe everday. Not with this one. It is natural, fluoride free, and it works! It comes in a variety of flavors so you'll be sure to find one that suites you.
I recommend purchasing it from iHerb.com because of the discounted price and ease of having it mailed to you. Get it here.  If you've never used iHerb before, use gift code VUK609 to get $10 off your first order of $40 or more, or $5 off your order that is less than $40.

iHerb.com recommendation and coupon code

For years, I have been working to make better choices for what goes on my skin and in my stomach. While preparing to teach in South Korea, I found iHerb.com. They sells nutritional supplements and other healthy products both domestically and internationally. A rapidly-expanding business, iHerb carries one of the largest selections of high - quality nutritional products in the world. Not only was I excited about the products they carry but that they shipped to S.Korea! Here is a video telling you a little about them:

Since returning to the U.S., I enjoy free shipping and no tax for orders of $40 or more. My orders usually ship the same day I place them and all my items are packed with extra care. I have not been disappointing by any product that I have tried.

I believe that when you find something good, you should share it with others so here is a coupon code to use on your first purchase:
